BIOGRAPHY PRESENTED BY MR. ADRIANO BONIFACIO ESPINAL
OF THE VISUAL ARTIST OF INTERNATIONAL FAME, MIGUEL ANTONIO PAYANO (PAYAMI)
This multifaceted Dominican was born in the populous sector of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic known as Villa Juana, on December 18, 1967. Son to the marriage of Rodrigo Santana Payano and Dolores Mercado Rosario, both of wealthy family whom with many sacrifices and efforts cultured their children to develop into professionals, the stage name of this gentleman is Payami.
From juvenescence Payami embarked on the popular struggles of his times, from his native district of Villa Juana, to the no less populous sector of Buenos Aires de Herrera where he completed his primary, secondary and university levels. Second child of said marriage, since his early years Payami was enamored by the beauty of nature and drawn to painting and the arts. It was there he cultivated what God bestowed upon him - a beautiful gift bequeathed to his parents, relatives, friends and acquaintances: the portrayal on canvas of the innumerable colors that adorn the diversities of life.
Traveling from his native Santo Domingo to New York City, without ado joined the masses of the labor force of production, acquiring diverse vocations; this rite of passage through that great city only heightening his worth.
As such it was in 2009, when in the month of October, and following the completion of several canvas paintings, Payami participates in a stunning exposition in a very exclusive milieu on Brickell Avenue, Miami, Florida, host to many internationally renowned artists, world famous curators and to a large and select audience, which carefully and passionately admired the embodied paintings of Payami.
Following these experiences Payami has walked a path lined with successes and exhibitions in venues such as Marion Hotel 2011, Weekender Art Miami Lakes June 2012, Coconout Grove (FOCACIA) January 2013, Alce Art Studio (DOS) Feb 2013 Centro of Art Cubaocho Feb 2013, Wynwood warehouse Project , live painting June 8 2013 Art Basel Miami 2012, Coconut Grove Art Festival, Ana G. Mendez University, and the Dominican Republic Independence Festival. His life experiences, along with his love of life, nature, and family have been his muse in the world of the arts. To those who do not love the arts - the arts capture emotions, sadness, happiness, charms, living alongside nature, knowing the environment; the work of arts of Payami say it all.
Much obliged.
